Dog Trainer:

Those individuals who want to become a trainer must successfully complete and pass our Apprentice Program. Trainers at the Academy of Canine Behavior have the responsibility of training and behaviorally modifying dogs that are in our Board & Train Program (1 Month), whether aggressive or non-aggressive.

Trainers handle customer appointments and conduct training visits with our clients. On a daily basis the trainers monitor the health of the dogs that are at the Academy for training and administer any needed medication.

The training staff continues to learn by attending local or distant seminars on canine behavior. Also, the trainers often instruct obedience classes throughout the year with classes. Class size on average is 12 dogs.

This is a very rewarding job and is best fit for the person who loves working with both dogs as well as people.

Front Desk:

The front desk here at the Academy of Canine Behavior is a great place for those who love working with people. Customer relations are a must. There are numerous tasks that are to be accomplished while working at the front desk. In this position you should be skillful at booking appointments, answering phones, imputing data in the computer and posting payments.

The front desk handles class registration and is in charge of product ordering and mailing for the office, kennel, and trainers.

Kennel Tech

The kennel tech position is one of great importance. Kennel Technicians handle feeding, bathing the dogs, nail trimming, medicating, as well as generally monitoring the health of the dogs.

With our “Board and Spoil” program, the kennel techs walk, play, and hang out with dogs throughout the day. Other tasks include cleaning dog runs and scooping portions of the grounds. This position is highly suitable for those looking at getting started in the animal care field.

Maintenance Tech:

The position of maintenance involves a variety of tasks that require a wide array of skills. Some of these skills include being proficient in heating, electrical, plumbing, painting, roof repair, cabinetry, carpentry, wall repair, pressure washing, maintaining yard equipment, as well as general repair.

Grounds Keeper:

Duties include maintaining 10 acres of property by: mowing, tree trimming, weed eating, roof cleaning, raking flowerbeds and general clean up around property.
