The
Academy of Canine Behavior is proud to now offer OBEDIENCE CAMP. This
is a new and exciting program that is designed for dogs that DO NOT
need any major behavioral modifications, but simply need education for
their dogs and the owners on basic obedience commands.
When you check in for Obedience Camp on Monday morning,
you will have a short orientation regarding the program.
The dogs will stay with us for 5 days and will be picked
up on Friday evening in a group class setting with other
owners from the Obedience Camp program. At that time we
will be working with you on basic handling skills to get
results in obedience. Over the weekend we give specific
instructions for success. We then will have the dogs come
back in on Monday to complete the second week of the program
with, once again, a Friday night group class. At the completion
of the 2 weeks, owners will have the option to continue
training with us one week at a time up to 2 additional
weeks.
The
success of the Obedience Program is reliant on owner involvement once
the dog is at home to continue the education. We believe that it’s
not training that changes dogs behavior, but the use of training commands
through repetition when your dog offers behaviors deemed unacceptable.
For
the Obedience Camp Program we DO NOT accept dogs that have aggression
issues, separation anxiety or special instructions for success.
